Re: Can somebody *please* be IA's staff? |
It would be nice if the management would quit being so mysterious about why things are the way they are. It's almost like they shut down the store but left the doors open. I don't think management knows what's happening either, but that's because they're not even bothering to look. And when they do say something, it's a bunch of double-talk.

What's even more annoying is the fact that folks who love IA
(like you guys) are having trouble putting stuff up and once it gets up it stays in open source; while the@#@$%&
pirates are getting in with no problem!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe the Democratic part of Congress (Pelousi and Reid) have a hand in this. What's worse, if one of you guys catch an illegal upload, you can't report it on the illegal movie site w/o these "fine" words from IA' "The site is temporarily shut down. Please try again later."

RE:

I repeat: Huh?

A few months ago, it was mentioned on IA discussion boards that
if IA has been served with a notice from Homeland Security (perhaps regarding thousands of jihadi videos hosted here), the Patriot Act "gags" the party from whom evidence is demanded. It's a federal crime to even tell anyone that the government has requested such information. If such an investigation is underway, it would be illegal to tell IA patrons about it - but it may prevent IA staff from freely moving files around.

No, Conservative Republican isn't redundant. Conservative is what his beliefs are, Republican is the polictical party he associates with.
My husband and I are conservative independents.

That same situation may also prevent us from even being able to log on. Whatever it is, it's not not slowing down the intake of jihad videos, not to mention all the porn, wrestling, and first-run movies. I don't really believe this has anything to do with the government or homeland security or whatever. I think it's just a matter of lack of action of management and staff. For all I know, there might not be anyone in the building, and from what I've seen, that may not be far from the truth.

Something strange is going on behind the scenes at IA, that's for sure.

That quote is from 1964. He changed his opinions on a lot of things quite a bit over the years. You might even say that he became a pragmatic centrist.
